What Do I Do With My Car After Winter?
There’s no nice way to put it, winter can be brutal. The frigid temperatures can do a lot of harm to both you and your car. Thankfully, we can see Spring coming just around the corner. We can finally thaw out and enjoy the outdoors again.
Before you take off in your car, you might want to take some time to knock off all the winter gunk that may have accumulated on it. Making sure you take the time to de-winterize your car once Spring has sprung can do a lot to keep your car healthy. There are just a few simple things you can do to get everything in good, working order once more.
How To De-Winterize Your Car
Winter puts your car through a lot. The freezing temperatures can do damage to your battery and all the salt can eat away at the bottom of your car. It’s always a good idea to give your car a thorough wash after winter is done to get all of that salt off. Be sure to get the underside and wheel wells of your car to get out as much salt as possible.
Once everything is squeaky clean, it’s time to check on some of your equipment. If you have some winter wipers, then it’s time to get them changed. Winter blades are often made of softer compounds which won’t last in the heat. It’s also a good idea to get your wheels aligned and balanced. The rough roads and ice patches of winter can knock things out of balance, so getting them straightened out again will help.
